Birthday Scone Recipe :)

This is the recipe for the blueberry-orange scones I made for Sadie's 1st birthday tea party! Super easy and delicious..

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon orange zest
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 Tablespoon honey
  • 1 Tablespoon orange juice
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 cup butter or margarine, melted
  • 1 cup blueberries
  • Extra sugar for topping

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 400.
  2. In a large bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder, orange zest, baking soda, and salt. Set aside. In another bowl, combine sour cream, honey, orange juice, egg, and butter. Add to dry ingredients and stir until just moistened. Fold in blueberries.
  3. Sprinkle a large cutting board with sugar. Put dough onto cutting board and press it to about 1 1/2" thick. Sprinkle sugar over top. Cut into squares or triangles. Place about 2" apart on greased cookie sheet and bake for 15-18 minutes or until lightly browned.
